Instagram goes down in UK as well globally, as reported by thousands of users on the global version of Down Detector website. Users reports spiked with several reports for errors with the App, including being unable to refresh the feed, send messages and server connection errors.
Hundreds of users also reported issues around 7 pm on the UK version of the Down Detector website with similar issues. Live heat map of users shows affected cities include London & Manchester being the most affected, while other cities include Birmingham, Nottingham and Glasgow.
Many users went on X (formerly Twitter) to report problems with the Instagram app. A flood of memes started flowing about whether the website is facing issues.
One user wrote: “Instagram went down in the middle of convo is crazy.”
Other people wrote: “Everyone running to Twitter to check if Instagram is down”.
