Manchester Airport Delayed Flights After Two easyJet Planes Clip Wings in Crash

At Manchester Airport, two easyJet flights ‘clipped wings’ due to which passengers are facing delays and cancellations. On the morning of August 15th, after the collision of two aircrafts on the airfield, all flights were delayed at the airport for a while.

According to the Manchester Evening News, flights were halted as a precaution while safety inspections were conducted. Although Manchester Airport is presently operating normally, travelers are advised to anticipate some delays as a result of the event.

An eyewitness who was supposed to make the trip to Marbella told the M.E.N:

“Just on the plane at Manchester Airport and another plane has just hit our wing and took the wing off.”

The M.E.N. has been informed that two EasyJet flights which were meant to leave at 6.15 a.m. happened to be involved in the problem at home. Aircraft U22267 was supposed to depart to Gibraltar, whereas aircraft U22117 was destined for Paris.

The M.E.N. knows that both easyJet flight that are involved in the incident are unlikely to depart to Manchester and that some other arrangements will be made for the affected passengers.

In a statement, easyJet said:

“EasyJet can confirm that two aircraft came into contact whilst taxiing to the runway at Manchester Airport. An immediate investigation has been launched to understand what happened. The safety and security of our passengers and crew is our highest priority.”
