Steam goes down for thousand of users in UK today near 3pm. Most users reported issues with purchase and server errors.
The Steam has not yet officially announced the reason behind this but mostly users posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the launch of new game Hollow Knight: Silksong potentially brought this issue due to server overload.
Down Detector, the famous website that tracks down time, shows nearly 3500 users reported about server error and purchase error.
At the time of writing, 65% users reported issues with purchase while 29% server error and 6% with website.
Recently Instagram and YouTube went down leaving thousands of users facing issues like server errors.
