Nintendo Switch Users can Access More Wii and GameCube Games

By

In 2026, the Nintendo Wii along with Nintendo GameCube has returned, and all games can be played on the Nintendo Switch as well as Nintendo Switch 2.

With time passing, more games from extensive history of Nintendo as a developer and publisher have been added to the ever-expanding Nintendo Switch family of systems.

Thanks to Nintendo Switch Online, its current library includes years’ worth of releases as well as numerous re-releases, such as Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD.

Many players may not be aware that all Nintendo Wii and Nintendo GameCube games may now be played on your current console for free. However, there are still a large number of games that have not yet been formally transferred to the Nintendo Switch.

Eventhough, PCs are the main platform for game emulation, intelligent games are finding out that it works just as well on other platforms.

We are only purchasing a Steam machine to simulate games, therefore the Steam Deck is a suitable choice.

You can play thousands and thousands of old games on your TV without a console or computer all thanks to the Amazon Fire TV Stick. Fire TV Stick has been praised as a great emulation device.

However, the Nintendo Switch is equally excellent if not better, and with the wide variety of wireless controllers that are currently available for it.

After much effort, the renowned Dolphin emulator is now compatible with the Nintendo Switch, and the most recent version enables the system to play games from the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo GameCube.

Keep in mind that it’s not flawless, as the following update makes evident:

“This is the most demanding core to run on Switch (Horizon) to date, so instability is expected — especially in this initial release. A compatibility list is being compiled to track how well games are running.”

So far games such as Luigi’s Mansion, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess as well as Super Smash Bros. Melee have been tested for the GameCube side of the emulator, while on the other hand, titles like Rayman Origins along with Rhythm Heaven Fever have been tested for the Wii.
