A new model Lumix L10 was rolled out by Panasonic in Lumix camera lineup with a small body and fixed lens is intended for photographers rather than video content producers. For $1,499.99, you can preorder the Lumix L10 with a silver or black finish right now.
The L10 will also be offered with a titanium gold finish with matching accessories and software for $1,599.99 in honor of the Lumix brand’s 25th anniversary, but only in small quantities and mostly via Panasonic’s online store.
The Lumix L10, which weighs 508 grams, has a magnesium alloy front shell and a metal body that is partially covered in a rough finish that mimics saffiano leather. Its 20.4MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor, which is also present in the Lumix GH7, is hidden beneath its retro-inspired casing.
The new L10 isn’t meant to be a video powerhouse, even though the GH7 is. Although it can still record 4K films at up to 120 frames per second in a variety of formats, including Panasonic’s MP4 Lite, its small size restricts its ability to dissipate heat, which in turn limits the duration of the recording.
The camera’s 24-75mm Leica lens has an aperture range of f/1.7 to f/2.8 that can be adjusted via a lens ring, and its macro shooting features enable autofocus to take pictures of objects as near as 3 cm away. The L10’s phase hybrid focus technology tracks moving subjects utilizing an AI-based real-time recognition engine that can lock onto eyes, faces, bodies, animals, or cars using 779 autofocus points dispersed around the frame.
The maximum speed for high-speed shooting is 11 frames per second when utilizing the camera’s mechanical shutter or 30 frames per second when using solely an electronic shutter.
A 2.36-million-dot OLED viewfinder and an articulated 1.84-million-dot screen are located on the rear of the L10. Additionally, there is a button specifically designed for loading and applying various color effects and simulated film styles that can be uploaded to the camera and personalized via Panasonic’s Lumix Lab mobile app.
