Samsung, with its initial line of smart glasses, called Galaxy Glasses, the Korean company intends to expand upon them. We get a first look at the stylish spectacles that are supposedly going to be released later this year according to a recent leak. At the moment, Samsung only offers the Galaxy XR headset, which runs Android XR. Despite all of its technological innovations, the headset isn’t useful for everyday use.

According to the mockups released by @OnLeaks, the Galaxy Glasses will resemble the Meta Ray-Bans in appearance—they will be sleek, fashionable, and identical to standard sunglasses. They are codenamed “Jinju,” however unlike the Galaxy XR, they won’t have micro-OLED 4K screens. Rather, they will simply have an integrated camera and microphone, just as its Meta rival.

The Galaxy Glasses’ absence of an integrated display will limit their usefulness, but it should also lower their cost. Codenamed “Haean,” another model with a display is presently in development and is scheduled for release in 2027.

The main feature of the Galaxy Glasses, which are expected to run Android XR, is Gemini integration. According to the Android Headlines article, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 chipset will power the spectacles. They will reportedly have a 155mAh battery and weigh 50g. A 12MP Sony IMX681 camera, directional speakers, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3 compatibility, and photochromic transition lenses are among further noteworthy features.

According to reports, the Galaxy Glasses will have some significant functional improvements over the Galaxy XR. Samsung’s glasses might have an advantage thanks to Gemini integration.

Samsung as well as Google will might launch the Galaxy Glasses at one of the upcoming Google I/O 2026 and Android Show I/O Edition events. If not, Samsung might present the Glasses at a July Unpacked presentation.

Pricing is still unknown, but even without the integrated micro-OLED screens, the Galaxy Glasses won’t be easy to afford. in addition, maybe Samsung can provide the smart glasses in a variety of colours and styles.

There is a huge market for these smart glasses, as previously seen by the Meta Ray-Bans’ success. Samsung’s glasses should have an advantage over their Meta rival thanks to Android XR and Gemini connectivity. If they master price and execution, they might be Samsung and Google’s next big thing.
